71-year-old Sharon Osbourne, famous for starring in reality series, The Osbournes with husband Ozzy and children Kelly and Jack, is not one to hold back in voicing her opinions. Match this with Louis Walsh, 71-year-old Irish music manager and former X Factor judge alongside his co-worker and friend “Mrs O”.

Their time judging on the X-Factor wasn’t always smooth sailing. The two opinionated figures couldn’t help but clash at times during their time on the show. In 2005, Sharon threw water over Louis after he provoked her implying she was taking rock star husband Ozzy Osbourne’s drugs.

The pair’s controversy speaks for itself, to the point that it has been reported that ITV bosses stepped in to give the pair respect and inclusivity training prior to the show.

There is an undeniable previous rivalry between Strictly Come Dancing professional, Nikita and Dancing on Ice competitor, Ekin Su. The nature of the BBC’s biggest dancing show vs ITV’s, naturally breeds unspoken feuding.

Despite this tension, on the first episode of the show Louis Walsh indicated a chemistry between the pair, as a potential CBB romance. The Express reported “fans notice an awkward snub when Nikita failed to mention his partner during his opening segment.”

Whilst Philip may not be on the show, Fern and Philip’s fallout is one of the biggest in Daytime TV’s history. 66-year old Fern presented This Morning alongside Philip for a decade until a savage replacement with Holly Willoughby in 2009.

The feelings of betrayal felt by Fern are so strong that she claimed on the show that would walk out of the Celebrity Big Brother house if he was to walk in. This emerged in a conversation with Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, after he declared rumours about him coming in as a contestant.

This last pairing is more of a current brewing feud, surrounding the issue of trouser-gate. To wear trousers, or not to wear trousers? That is the Celebrity Big Brother question.

Two vastly differently personality types fated to clash. Upon David’s entrance into the house, Louis Walsh couldn’t help but make remarks about David’s leg display, leading to risk of being cancelled by fans. Walsh criticised Potts on an episode of the show, “No, we don’t want to see those legs. And it’s too much fake tan”. If Big Brother reveals this to David, or upon leaving the house he discovers, tensions are only likely to grow stronger.

Maya dated Stormzy (who real fans know him by his name Michael) for four years before a tragic (like, seriously, we were sobbing) spilt in 2019. But with their recent rekindle, the pair have really made it clear that distance really does make the heart grow fonder. Yay! 

So look no further, we have the full timeline from when the stars met to the tragic break up through to holiday reunions. Here’s everything these UK A-listers have been up to in their whirlwind relationship:

2014- First meeting at the start of their careers 

Maya and Stormzy first met in October at a Red Bull event in 2014, when both were at the start of their careers and relatively out of the media spotlight.

An instant attraction was obvious between the two, with Maya admitting in a joint interview with Vogue: “I knew I fancied him from the start.” Like many, the pair initially trialled the whole friend situation, until a first kiss set everything in line.  

2015 – They started dating but kept things under wraps 

Three months after meeting, Maya Jama and Stormzy started dating and quickly became one of the UK’s power couples. The pair got together at 20 and 21 before anyone really knew who they were, setting out a foundation for a normal relationship, mostly out the of the public eye. That is of course, until their fame grew. 

2016 – Stormzy got more and more famous and dedicated a song to Maya 

As Stormzy’s music career grew, more attention was directed the couple’s way. With Maya starring in his music video to the song written for her, “Birthday Girl”. It’s one thing having a song written for you, but starring in the music video is the tribute every girl deserves!

Stormy wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “That was for the Mrs but I hope any girl that hears it can vibe to it and play it on their birthday also and feel special.”

2017 – Proposal pressure and growing tensions 

Two years into dating, Stormzy had his eyes of the prize of Maya Jama. He told The Mirror: “I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right.”

With growing media attention and criticism, Maya felt a growing pressure of being labelled as “Stormzy’s girlfriend”, particularly as a woman in the industry with the conversation following her being limited to her relationship. 

2019 – The big split amid endless cheating rumours 

After four years together, heartbroken fans learnt that the seemingly perfect couple had split. Cheating rumours quickly began to swirl, following speculation of Stormzy being unfaithful to Maya with fellow singer Jorja Smith.

Stormzy was quick to shut down these rumours, but it wasn’t long before Maya moved out of their South West London home.  As any girl in Maya’s situation would, the social media wipe of any trace of their relationship was cleared, with the classic unfollow, hinting at a messy split. 

2021- Maya gets engaged to her new boyfriend Ben Simmons

After an eight-month romance, that went public at Wimbledon in July 2021, Stormzy watched Maya get engaged to Australian basketball star, Ben Simmons. The athlete certainly has a type for successful women, with his previous ex being Kendall Jenner. 

Luckily, for Stormzy’s sake, the pair weren’t meant to be. With their hectic schedules driving them apart. 

2023- Maya spotted supporting Stormzy at his headline gig

Stormzy took headline stage the All Points East festival in August of 2023, with a very a special supporter in his corner. Obviously, fans lost their minds when Maya was spotted on the sidelines and rumours of their romance kicking off again immediately started to swirl. 

2023 – Hand holding on a luxury holiday to Greece 

Nothing says relationship rekindle like a romantic getaway at a luxury resort in Greece. Four years since the split, the couple were photographed holding hands in Greece. The pair certainly know how to set the record straight in style. 

In the UK, we have had some iconic celebrity couples, from Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch to Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright. After reflecting on Maya and Stormzy’s whirlwind of a romance timeline, it would be fair to say they take the lead. 

With their rekindling considered, we can take a deep sigh of relief, knowing that our favourite pair are back and better than ever.

This comes after Cardiff SU temporarily banned students wearing blue shirts and chinos following an incident of  “dangerous behaviour” on Wednesday 4th October.

The Rugby Club claim to The Tab Cardiff that its members have “voluntarily” stepped down with the SU saying that currently no uni clubs are under investigation for the incident and that the two instances are “unrelated”.

The incident that took place last month was alleged to have happened in the queue before YOLO, and was described by the SU as “reckless, dangerous, and incredibly irresponsible”.

An eyewitness and a member of the Rugby Club told The Cardiff Tab at the time: “A load of freshers were waiting in the queue for the SU last Wednesday, and they had a bit too much to drink.

“There was about 10/15 of them that started a ‘maul’, so essentially it was a load of boys pushing against each other in the queue tackling each other.”

Now, members of the Rugby Club have been asked to not host any “social activity in the club’s name” until after Christmas whilst the club works “collaboratively” with the university and unions.

A member of the Rugby Club told The Tab Cardiff that when socials do return they will be supervised by the Athletic Union. When approached for comment, the club and the union neither confirmed nor denied this.

A spokesperson for the Students’ Union told The Tab Cardiff: “The Students’ Union is proud to support over 60 sports teams and 200 student societies each year, these activities positively contribute to the student experience at Cardiff University.

“It would not be right to comment on any individual complaints that are being handled with any of our sports teams or societies. However, to be clear, no club is currently under investigation over the nightclub incident which led to a temporary clothing restriction. Any complaints or restrictions given to any club will be in response to wholly unrelated events.

“As with all our activities, our paramount concern is to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all members of our community. If any allegations of inappropriate behaviours arise, they are treated with the utmost seriousness and in accordance with our established procedures. ”

A Cardiff University RFC spokesperson told The Tab Cardiff: “We are working collaboratively with the Students’ Union, Athletic Union, and the university to develop a positive and inclusive environment for all members of the club.

“To enable this to be the case, the committee have voluntarily stepped away from positions and asked that members do not have social activity in the club’s name until after Christmas.

“We do look forward to supporting the boys on the field and hopefully celebrating some wins this week in tough fixtures.”

Last month, a male intruder broke into Cardiff University’s Arts and Social Studies library stealing a students’ laptop on the ground floor study space.

Witnesses allegedly watched as the thief ran off with the stolen technology to get into a car parked on the other side of Corbett Road.

Molly, a first year journalism student, who witnessed the event said: “Library staff appeared distressed, shouting after the thief” with a librarian allegedly declaring it as the “third instance recently.”

Students often leave personal belongings in the library unattended, especially during exam season.

This is a common occurrence, exemplified by Tommy, a second year student at Cardiff Uni who added: “I normally leave my laptop in the library on a table while I go down to the Costa in town.”

A Cardiff University spokesperson told The Cardiff Tab: “We are aware of a number of attempted thefts in our libraries. Despite 24-hour university security and a network of CCTV cameras across campus, thefts and attempted thefts of expensive items like mobile phones and laptops do occasionally happen.

“These incidents have been reported to South Wales Police and University security continue to assist them with their enquiries.

“As a precautionary measure, we have increased the number of University security patrols across our library network and we are working with library colleagues to remind them of following crime prevention measures.

“There is also a need for students – and staff – to play their part. We’d ask students to carry their University ID and to remain vigilant; to keep personal belongings out of sight, particularly mobile phones, wallets and laptop bags and; to never leave bags and phones unattended.

“If you see anyone acting suspiciously, you should report it immediately to security on (0)29 2087 4444. Staff and students can also download and use the Safezone app, which is a quick and easy way to alert security.”

A spokesperson from South Wales Police told The Cardiff Tab: “South Wales is investigating a number of recent library thefts from Cardiff University libraries. We are working with the University to raise awareness with staff and increasing our patrols in these locations. As always, we ask people to be vigilant and to report suspicious behaviour.”

Cardiff University’s library regulations published on its website state in the case of stolen items that crime reference number will be required and instances will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
