As a UK viewer, there’s still a lot about Superstore that I just don’t get. I’ve never stepped foot in a Walmart and I struggle to believe Target is real and isn’t just Cloud 9’s biggest competitor. And as someone who’s never worked in retail, the characters seem wildly unhinged, but my supermarket worker friends have since reassured me that the chaos is all very real. As we don’t have the same shops over here, it seems only natural to imagine all of the Superstore characters working at UK supermarkets and how they’d survive respectively.

Amy – Tesco

I don’t know about you, but I could see Amy thriving in Tesco, arguably the best bog standard UK supermarket. It’s Clubcard deals truly have me in a chokehold. With that perfect balance of a business brain and personality, Amy would run that shop floor with an iron fist. She’d also be more than capable of dealing with the shoplifters who haunt Tesco, as much as we like to pretend it’s an upmarket shop.

Jonah – Waitrose

Being a bit of a snob, Jonah’s life would peak if he landed a job on the shop floor at Waitrose. It’s focus on quality and customer service would appeal to Jonah’s values and his tendency to go above and beyond and he would definitely thrive in that green apron.

Garrett – Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s is very much cruising in the middle lane when it comes to class and affordability. It’s definitely become more upmarket and the big Sainsbury’s I’ve been to are absolutely huge, so would definitely benefit from him on the announcements. Orange would also look great on him.

Dina – ASDA

Dina’s strict, no-nonsense approach to her job and her focus on store security align with ASDA’s values down to a T. Known for its competitive pricing and busy environment, Dina would be the breath of fresh air the supermarket needed. With her approved work hairstyle and crisp polo. She’d be assistant CEO in no time.

Cheyanne – B&M Bargains

Cheyenne’s youthful energy and friendliness would be a good match for B&M Bargains, often frequented by school children looking to spend their lunch money on American sweets. Despite predominately manning the make-up counter, her time as floor supervisor proved how she can do it all, so navigating everything from the gardening aisle to the soup cans would be a piece of cake for her.

Glenn – Lidl

Glenn is a family man who loves no one more than his kids and his wife, except possibly Amy. That being said, he is pretty erratic and would apply to be a manager at Lidl simply so he could have first dibs to the middle aisle before anyone else. He would definitely max out his Lidl Plus card and put himself, Jerusha and the clan into debt over his impulse juice spending though.

Mateo – Marks & Spencer

Mateo’s ambition and desire for the finer things in life would make him Marks & Spencer’s dream employee. He’d be able to assist in not only clothing, but food and homeware too. He’d also love any excuse to ditch the vest for a shirt and tie.

Marcus – Netto

Netto died a sad death years ago, but our man Marcus would single handedly bring this relic back if he had the chance. He’s very much a hands on kind of guy, so he’d be more than capable of putting in the necessary graft to nurse this supermarket out of administration and back to health.

Sandra – Iceland

Sandra is always on the go and is ready to take on anything. That kind of determination makes her the perfect fit to work at Iceland, as being around those freezers all day is bound to take a toll on your spirit. It also might be nice for her to experience being in some kind of extreme temperatures seeing as she’s never been to the beach.

All the glaringly obvious editing errors in The Office US that you shouldn’t have missed

Love it or hate it, The Office US is one of those series which will just never die. Teenagers will be binge watching it in 10, 15 and even 20 years to come and rightly so – it’s a cult classic. No matter how many times we rewatch it, it still provides all the comfort and humour as if it were the first time watching. That being said, there are still loads of things you might have missed, regardless of how many times you’ve seen the show.

Whether you were distracted by Michael Scott’s dad jokes or too busy trying to work out who started the fire, here’s a rundown of all the editing errors in The Office US.

Phyliss vanishes into thin air during the jelly incident

In the very first episode of the show, most of us were distracted watching the stapler-in-jelly fiasco between Jim and Dwight. During this scene, Phyliss’ seat is initially empty but in one take, she appears and is turning around mid-shot. Then, miraculously, she vanishes again when the next shot shows.

The magic buzzer in Taboo

When Dwight and Erin are playing Taboo in season eight, episode 15, Dwight can be seen holding a buzzer so that the speaker is face down. But after Jim slaps him, the next shot shows the speaker turned over and upside down. It must have been some hard slap, or more likely, a missed detail in filming.

Angela is a fake vegetarian

In true Angela fashion, she loved telling everyone how much better she was because of her aversion to eating meat. Vegetarianism ties in perfect with her insufferable character, and the fact that she’s an insanely crazy cat lover. But in season eight, episode 13, Angela slips up and tells Oscar that her son was conceived because of “too much wine in [her] chicken piccata”.

Michael’s office is suddenly empty

Another editing error in The office US came in the very first episode, when Jan and Michael have a heated argument in his office about downsizing the Scranton branch. Michael enlists Pam for backup and the three of them gather in his office, where we can see them near the glass wall.

However, in the next shot of Jim and Dwight, the office is empty.

Dwight’s shirt is water repellent

The Fire episode in season two, episode four is one of the best episodes of the show hands down. But it’s clear that the chaos of the episode got to both the characters and production team, as there’s not one but two editing errors spotted in this episode.

Whilst everyone slowly evacuates the building due to the fire, Dwight loses it and throws a jug of water into a room full of thick smoke, getting himself wet in the process. But after Dwight heroically rescues Kelly by dragging her out kicking and screaming, his shirt is completely dry.

Michael’s scarf moved position on its own

With questionable fashion sense at the best of times, it would be easy to disregard this one as a character trait. But at six minutes into the 12th episode of season five, Michael can be seen speaking with Dwight and Jim in his office. He’s just about to leave with his scarf above his collar, but the next shot shows the scarf actually under his collar instead.

Stanley is a menace on the basketball court

Look, I don’t doubt that Stanley is a killer basketball player, but the speed at which he appears to move at in the basketball scene in season one is just insane. Initially behind Pam when she throws the jump ball, Stanley somehow spawns at the other end of the court just a split second later. He’s good, but he’s not that good.

Kevin purposefully drops his ice cream

Kevin is definitely a ditz, but in season nine, episode six he really drops the ball – or his ice cream. Overhearing Oscar reveal to the camera crew that he’s having an affair with the senator, Kevin pops out from behind some crates. In hearing the shock confession, he drops his ice cream from the cone, but the actor can actually be seen pushing it off with his thumb.

Filmed in LA, directors obviously tried hard to ensure the series looked and seemed to be set in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This is often pulled off, apart from a few shots here and there that are obviously not set in the northeast of the USA. One notable example of this is when Michael pulls up

Michael doesn’t have a brother

Again, one of the more noticeable editing errors in The Office US cropped up in the very first episode when Michael refers to his brother. He jokes that he has a special safekeeping for Jan’s messages – the bin. Elaborating that he learned that joke from his “brother”, who has the same method for filing his taxes. The issue comes later, when Michael’s brother is never mentioned again. Instead, it’s later revealed that he only has a half sister, whose name is Marnie Cooper.

Jim signs Meredith’s cast as ‘John Krasinski’

We all remember when Michael hit Meredith with his car – how could we forget? During the whole kerfuffle of it all, most viewers won’t have noticed that when Jim signed Meredith’s cast, he didn’t write “Jim” or even “James Halpert”. John actually wrote his own name rather than his character’s and eagle eyed viewers will see the big “K” for Krasinski. Regardless, it has to be one of the funnuest editing errors in The Office US.

Clearly a fan of actresses, Jade Davis’ love story with Luke Newton is next on his relationship timeline, with the two pair dating for around four years. She was his first “official” girlfriend who he publicly announced dating after he became a prominent figure. Posting loads of photos together on Instagram, the pair were super romantic and a great match. Luke revealed how thoughtful his ex-girlfriend was to Pop Sugar back in 2021, explaining how she surprised him with a trip to Amsterdam at Christmas and a scrapbook of memories of them as a gift.

He said: “She’s got an amazing memory, much better than mine, so it’s kind of nice to me to look back and go, ‘Oh, that’s what we were doing that day,’ rather than just remembering the photo.”

Jade even accompanied Luke to the Bridgerton season two premiere back in 2021. But despite their picture prefect relationship, the pair went their seperate ways in 2023, claiming that they weren’t able to give enough time to each other due to their busy schedules.

A source told The Sun last year that the couple had broken up, commenting: “Luke and Jade drifted apart as they could not find time in their busy schedules to invest in their relationship.”

Despite their loved up years together, both Luke and Jade deleted all online traces of their relationship together, which wasn’t very millennial of them. Let’s just hope Jade didn’t watch episode five of the latest season, for her own sake.

With season three of Bridgerton focussing on the love story of Colin and Penelope, the many steamy scenes shared between the two have of course sparked rumours of a real life relationship between Luke and Nicola. The pair attended season three’s red carpet premiere in Bowral, Australia, holding hands on the red carpet and sparking many rumours that the pair were more than just friends in real life too.

But despite our wishful thinking, both Luke and Nicola have always been undeniably close friends, with selfies of them having fun together constantly popping up on each other’s respective Instagram pages. Despite not officially confirming the whispers, Luke is rumoured to be dating Antonia Roumelioti, a model and dancer. They were both spotted together in LA on holiday only five months ago back in January. I know what you’re thinking – where’s the hard evidence that they’re together? Well, Luke and Antonia were actually spotted sunbathing by Griffith Observatory while on a hike, with a source revealing to The Mirror that they were an item.

They said: “Luke and Antonia get on really well and are having a great time together. They have not yet gone public as it is still early days, but they have grown very close and of course, all their friends and family know.

“They are thrilled to see them both so happy. And Antonia has been supporting Luke as he deals with the global attention that the latest series has attracted.”

Look – I’m happy he’s happy, but I can’t pretend to be soul crushingly disappointed to hear he’s not in fact single. A girl can dream.

18-year-old left incoherent and unable to walk after being ‘spiked’ at Liverpool Eras Tour

An 18-year-old woman has claimed to have been spiked whilst at the Eras Tour in Liverpool on Friday evening.

Grace attended the Taylor Swift concert last week and was attended to by paramedics after falling ill.

In a video posted online, she explained how she knocked her drink over and had noticed a man “behaving very suspiciously” around her, before she lost her memory and became unable to walk.

Grace attended the concert with friends and explained how she dropped her drink whilst seated and spilt around half of it. She picked the cup back up and kept the remainder for the drink for later: “I had a drink and I spilt it, but when I picked it back up, I had about half left. So it wasn’t completely gone. I saved that for later in the concert, which I did drink shortly before all this happened.”

Soon after spilling her drink, around the time before Taylor sung her surprise songs, Grace began to feel ill and decided to leave her seat to get some air. Explaining that she was not dehydrated after drinking a substantial amount of non-alcoholic fluids before the show, Grace said: “I started to feel sick and dizzy at first.

“I sat down outside on the floor and I thought I would go back inside for the surprise songs, [but] did not start to feel better while I was outside. I expected maybe a bit of fresh air, less warmth and sitting down would help but I started to feel worse.”

Grace then recited feeling “absolutely smashed” soon after, explaining that when she looked in either direction, her “vision in [her] peripheral was slow.”

She began to shake uncontrollably, wasn’t able to understand what people were asking her and became worried after she was no longer able to walk normally: “When I tried to walk I was stumbling and couldn’t figure out I was going to the point where I couldn’t really walk anymore and I was falling, I was incoherent.”

After being taken to the medical tent, Grace was treated by paramedics, who initially thought she was under the influence of alcohol but checked her blood sugar after she explained that she had not been drinking. She said: “No one believed that I wasn’t drunk. Anyone I saw was just asking me how much alcohol it had.”

Grace did not initially believe she had been spiked and struggled to work out why she suddenly had become so unwell: “I began to feel quite it felt like being tipsy. And then over the span of only about 15 minutes, it got a lot worse. I was texting for a while and then eventually I stopped really being able to text so I had a phone call with my boyfriend.”

After receiving medical attention during the show, Grace decided not to go to hospital as she felt too unwell to wait for tests. It was only when Grace spoke to her boyfriend and he arrived at the concert to help that spiking was suggested as a possible reason for her becoming incoherent, as paramedics couldn’t find anything wrong other than a raised temperature.

Grace’s sister was also required to fill out her medical forms after she was unable to do them herself.

She said: “I was adamant that maybe my blood sugar was low. And that’s what was causing it because I didn’t I was adamant I hadn’t been spiked is ridiculous. Why would that be the case?

“I knew something was wrong with me very quickly. I had eaten plenty before I came I’d slept plenty I taken regular breaks. I’d had three drinks in the span of three hours. I was not dehydrated.”

Texts between Grace and her mum during the incident

Although Grace’s friends did not witness anyone attempting to spike her, they noted one man behaving “very suspiciously” after he approached them whilst she was on the floor to “ask [us] if we were leaving”.

Some viewers on the original video posted online were doubtful she had been slipped something, with many questioning why anyone would be spiked at a Taylor Swift concert. One wrote: “No one spiked you. You’re literally just trying to make men look bad. Who hurt you?”

Another viewer questioned how anyone could have snuck things into the stadium as their bags were checked on entry, but others claimed that their bags weren’t searched at all. One viewer wrote: “This genuinely does seem possible as at night three they only checked my merch bag. I said ‘I have my other bag’ and they said it was fine and just let me in, they weren’t checking bags my night at all.”

Another woman added: “We went N3 and the security guy ‘checked’ my bag by just looking in it. Didn’t check any pockets etc and they weren’t checking the merch bags. Who knows what people smuggled in.”

Other who saw Grace’s TikTok video claimed that she was not the only person claiming to have been spiked on Friday night. One viewer asked where she was sitting as her sister had also allegedly been spiked at Friday’s concert, whilst another wrote: “I overheard my workmates saying how their son also seemed to have been spiked, cos he was completely out of character and lost his memory (plus spelt his name wrong on medical forms)”.

Despite the incident, Grace made a good recovery and has spoken with others who attended the concert and who believe to have been spiked themselves.

Taylor Swift celebrates Eras Tour with whopping 45 doner kebabs order from London takeaway

Taylor Swift has pre-ordered £450 worth of chicken kebabs from her favourite North London takeaway shop ahead of her show at Wembley Stadium on Friday.

The pop singer ordered 45 large chicken doner kebabs for herself and her team from Kentish Delight, a local takeaway she’s previously visited.

Scheduling the huge order for Friday evening, a source even revealed how she’ll be celebrating her huge stadium gig with chicken kebab and lots of garlic sauce and salad, The Sun reports.

After her hugely successful show in Liverpool, the next leg of the Eras Tour is set to kick off in London on June 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

With a whopping 90,000 seats, Wembely is one of the biggest venues on the Eras Tour and is set to be a big night. Whilst attendees might plan on celebrating with a few drinks or a dance after the show, it looks like Taylor has big plans herself, which include a whopping great bag of greasy chicken doners.

It seems that Kentish Delight is a London favourite of Taylor’s, after she visited with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn back in 2017. Taylor even filmed the music video for her song End Game in the takeaway shop, which has since skyrocketed in popularity as Swifties recognise it as one of their idol’s favourite spots.

At up to 1,000 calories a piece, including 55g of fat and 69g of carbohydrates, the scran will be picked up by a member of her entourage on Friday. A source said: “They’ll be collected by someone from her team on the night. It’s a big order but the kebab house can handle it.”

Dishing the details on how the singer prefers her kebab, they added: “Taylor adds garlic sauce to hers, as well as heaps of salad.”

This isn’t the first time Taylor Swift splashed the cash on a hefty food order of sausage rolls, steak bakes and donuts for her team from Greggs when she began began the UK leg of her tour in Edinburgh on June 7th.

That happens to be the case with Jonathan Bailey himself, and no other than Ariana Grande is utterly obsessed with him too. The pair are actual besties after working together on movie projects and their support for one another is low-key adorable. They get up to all sorts together, so here’s a look inside the adorable friendship of Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey.

Uh oh, a new ranking found these 10 Russell Group unis are the worst in the world right now

No matter which Russell Group university you study at, you’re bound to tell people it’s the best one in the country. It’s part of the intricate lore if being a uni student – you can hate on your own campus but absolutely no one else is allowed to say a bad word about it. Even if you hate all your lectures, your SU bar is shit and the institution is literally on its knees, you will defend that grey pebble dash prison right up until the end. Well, that’s unless you study at one of the worst Russell Group unis in the country right now.

The QS World rankings look at 1,500 unis worldwide to tell us the very best universities in the world right now. This year, Imperial College London beat Oxbridge Universities for the first time ever, so there’s some serious reshuffling going on at the moment.

Universities are ranked based on factors such as academic reputation to how well they are respected by employers.

So these are the worst Russell Group unis in 2025 that made it into the QS World Ranking

89. Durham University

At a comfortable 89th place in the world, Durham University tied with Pennsylvania State University. Despite being overcrowded with a large majority of Oxbridge rejects, it actually ranked as the 10th worst Russell group university in 2025. Bit awkward.

105. University of Sheffield

Sheffield was ranked at the 105th best university in the world, which isn’t bad for a little northern town. It suffered a bit more of a hit when ranked against UK Russell Group universities at the ninth worst, but that can be expected. Sheffield produced one of the world’s best indie rock bands – they can’t do it all!

108. University of Nottingham

Notts was considered to be the eighth worst Russell Group uni in 2025, according to the newest data. I am truly shocked – not only do all Nottingham grads rave on about their university, the campus looks mega posh too. I guess you really do have to take some things for surface value.

120. Queen Mary University of London

After hearing how Imperial College London actually overtook Cambridge and Oxford Universities in the 2025 QS World Ranking, it’s surprising to see another London university in the top 10 worst Russell Group unis. I fear it has stopped trying.

129. Newcastle University

Ranking at number six out of the worst Russell Group unis 2025, this one hurt. As a Newcastle University graduate myself, I’m going to pretend I didn’t read this and instead continue to brag about the city and culture instead. Pick your battles.

165. University of Liverpool

Placing at 165th in the world, the University of Liverpool certainly didn’t flop, but there are definitely improvements to be made if it intends to improve next year. It’s currently the fifth worst Russell Group uni for 2025.

169. University of Exeter

Exeter! This isn’t very “rah” of you – I expected more than a low ranking as the fourth worst uni out of the Russell Groups. What is going on?

184. University of York

After a chaotic year since the passing of our king Long Boi, I’m going to let this one slide. Ranking as the third worst Russell Group for 2025 is slightly embarrassing and I know it can do better. Let’s give them a year off.

186. Cardiff University

Well, with the UK’s most dangerous student area yet again being Cathays, this one doesn’t seem too shocking. The second worst Russell Group in the country was of course Cardiff University, but to be fair, Wales is a small country.

206. Queen’s University Belfast

Although often forgotten about when compared to the likes of the University of Edinburgh or Durham University, QMUL is in fact a Russell Group University. It actually ranked at a respectable 206 out of the world rankings, not bad at all when you consider the size of Ireland in comparison to many other countries in the world. It was however, ranked as the worst Russell Group university for 2025. There’s always next year, ey QMUL.

Pippa is also an actress and is best known for her impressive roles in Torchwood, Dark Shadows, The Avengers, and Doctor Who, which she starred in alongside Jonathan.

Jonathan also attended Pippa’s 30th birthday where they snapped a photo together, sparking even more rumours of their supposed relationship. Whatever the label, their relationship was certainly cosy, with their most recent photos together being taken in November 2018. They did look a fitting pair, but with no confirmation from either party, it’s possible they were just close friends.

James Ellis – 2019 to 2022

James Ellis’ love story with Jonathan Bailey is next on his relationship timeline, with the two actors dating from 2019 to 2022.

Their three year relationship had fans swooning, with the couple attending the Olivier Awards together in 2019 and posing for adorable photos together. Jonathan actually won an award at the event for his role in the musical Company, and the pair celebrated with a super cute kiss before he headed on stage to collect his award. The peck was the first time he confirmed their relationship in public, as neither of them ever actually commented on the romance publicly.

Because of this, the exact start and end date of their relationship is unknown, but we know roughly from their first kiss that it was sometime around then.

After James and Jonathan’s relationship, some rumours of a romance between Jonathan and cast mate Matt Bomer circulated after they worked together on Fellow Travelers, but these proved to be another product of Jonathan’s fabulous on screen chemistry with fellow actors.

After his relationship with James, Jonathan chose to keep his love life private and to be honest, I don’t blame him. Whilst confirming that he’s currently in a relationship with a mystery man, Jonathan has kept all other details of their relationship a secret. He did at least confirm in December 2023 that he’s dating “a lovely man”, explaining how keeping his relationship private is really important to him. That’s all that matters, right?

Jonathan said: “Having a private life is, for me, completely critical. I don’t know if I would be able to be as confident to speak out on other things if I felt that my whole life was up for grabs.”

He has also previously opened up to GQ about homophobia in Hollywood and what it meant for him and his relationships in the public eye. He said: “[There are] two things we don’t want to know: If you’re an alcoholic or if you’re gay.

“All it takes is for one of those people in that position of power to say that, and it ripples through.”

Speaking about how he kept his sexuality private for a large portion of his life, he said: “Of course, I thought that in order to be happy, I needed to be straight.”

After realising this didn’t need to be the case, he decided to be his honest self: “I reached a point where I thought, ‘F*ck this.’ I’d much prefer to hold my boyfriend’s hand in public or be able to put my own face picture on Tinder and not be so concerned about that than getting a part.”

This privacy may possibly have something to do with an incident Jonathan experienced with homophobic man at a coffee shop after he attended an LGBTQ+ event. He previously recounted in an interview how a man pulled his cap off and “threw it across the room” before threatening to shoot him if he didn’t get out of the cafe. After being both threatened and verbally abused, Jonathan spoke about how this affected him: “My life was threatened. My body believed it; my brain didn’t, and it took me a while to really catch up with it.”

Bridgerton firmed itself as a fan favourite ever since Netflix wowed us with the love story of Daphne and the Duke back in 2022. The show has only grown more popular since its first season, with Penelope’s love story being bumped up to season three due to fears around Nicola Coughlan’s schedule following her insane fame from the show. But it’s not just Nicola who’s caught the media’s attention – here’s a look at the successful lives of the Bridgerton cast who are famous outside of the show.

Penelope Featherington has been a fan favourite ever since she revealed her identity as Lady Whistledown was revealed to viewers. But Nicola has not only wowed us in the period drama, but also in her leading role in Derry Girls too. Outside of the show, she’s gone on to land roles in Channel 4 show Big Mood, Barbie and even the Doctor Who Christmas special coming in December.

Nicola travelled the world with Luke Newton ahead of the release of Bridgerton season three, sharing photos of them in Brazil, New York and Dublin. She’s also been the face of many magazine covers including Grazia, Elle, Marie Claire and Teen Vogue, a gig she described as a “true full circle moment” after being an avid reader when she was younger.

Unsurprisingly, Simone shot to fame after her love story in season two where Kate shared forbidden love with Anthony Bridgerton. Following her love story which aired last year. She even featured in the 2022 issue of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in European entertainment, as well as the Time 100 Next.

Appearing as the cover of British Vogue’s December 2022 and March 2024 issues, Simone most recently covered Vogue India. She was recently revealed as the new face of L’Oréal Paris. An icon living, really.

Our Colin finally had his heyday in season three and thank god he shaved the sideburns down for it too. Luke accompanied Nicola across the world as the toured for the Bridgerton season three premiere. He’s gone on to land covers and shoots with loads of big names including British GQ, New York Times and Man About Town. And he looks properly hot too, if I do say so myself.

Outside of Bridgerton, Jonathan has been acclaimed for his roles in many theatres in plays and performances, even winning the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries in 2023. Perhaps his love for plays stemmed from his childhood, where he was a hardcore theatre kid and worked on performances such as Tiny Tim and Young Scrooge.

He’s next set to appear as Fiyero in the two-part movie musical Wicked. Rumor has it that he even entered talks to star in fourth installment of the Jurassic World film series. Now that, I cannot wait to see.

Alongside his acting gigs, he’s an avid supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and charities, running Hackney Half earlier this year where he raised over £30,000.

Despite not appearing in season two or three of Bridgerton, Regé was heavily celebrated for his performance as the Duke in season one. He received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People and was also named in Time magazine’s 100 Next List in 2021.

Regé was even nominated for a Primetime Emmy for his role, so it was disappointing to see him turn down the offer to act in the later seasons of Bridgerton, with claims that his career is now in “rebuilding mode” after later projects failed to take off.

He’s also appeared in Netflix’s film The Gray Man which received mixed reviews. In 2022 he was also made the face of Armani Code. Most recently, he acted in the fantasy film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Modern roles aren’t for him, clearly.

After landing the role of Eloise in Bridgerton all the way back in 2020, Claudia has only gone on to wow us more. She’s undoubtedly the best character in the season due to her wit and confidence to be blunt and bold, but outside of the period drama she’s featured in quite a lot else.

Claudia has also appeared in Australian drama, Bali 2002, for which she was nominated for the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actress. Last year, she also narrated the audiobook The Rebound by Leeanne Slade, which was voted one of Audible’s best books of 2020. She has no social media, but we can look forward to seeing her in the upcoming Netflix series, Toxic Town. She really is an “it” girl, and not just because she grew up on a houseboat.

Despite only joining the famous Bridgerton cast in season three, Hannah has already appeared in a load of shows and films, including as Sarah Chapman in the Netflix film Enola Holmes 2, alongside Millie Bobby-Brown. She also acted in Flowers in the Attic: The Origin, a miniseries prequel based on the novel Garden of Shadows.

After replacing Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton, Hannah was also announced as the face of Aveda’s Botanical Repair campaign. She’s also recently been on the cover of Elle and looked absolutely stunning too.

Avid viewers of Bridgerton are well accustomed to the hidden symbolism buried in the first three seasons of show so far. We know that every little detail in the show is considered, from Lady Danbury’s cane, right down to the colour symbolism of the frills and frocks donned by the ton. So, whilst we were all wowing at Penelope’s new look she debuts in the first part of the newest season, there’s actually a lot more behind her makeover than initially suspected. Let’s take a look at why Penelope changed her hair in Bridgerton season three.

We see Pen grow brave in the first episode of the new season, trying out not only a new colour, but a new hairstyle too. At first glance, it seems that this new look is simply an attempt to incorporate some French themes into her appearance, after hearing about Colin’s travels through Paris and beyond. Showing both her trusty dressmaker, Madame Delacroix, and her maid this new inspiration, Lady Whistledown turns heads when she arrives at the ball in not only a deep teal dress, but with a brand new hairstyle too.

However, viewers were quick to suggest that this new barnet symbolises more than just Pen’s new style. After accepting this is her third season out, Pen frequently labels herself as a spinster and this is also reflected physically in her more relaxed hairdo.

Some fans believe that this change is symbolic of her newfound freedom, unconventionality and simplicity. Her striking look in episode one showed her red locks tumbling down one shoulder, with some suggesting this is a reference to her double life, as well as her own uncertainty regarding her looks.

Others think that Pen carefully calculated her hair to be most appealing to Colin. One Reddit user reminded viewers that influencer Cat Quinn pointed out that having one’s hair down in this era is a symbol of being ready to love and let go. We know this is true from Penelope’s demeanour change where she all but classes herself ineligible.

Regardless of its hidden meaning, Penelope’s new hair is a breath of fresh air after the ridiculous pin ups she suffered throughout season one and two.
